Your Nightlife Could Be Endangering Your Health
Next Tip: The Vegan Lifestyle – Is It For You?
It’s great to be young and carefree, when you have little responsibility. There’s nothing wrong with having fun and enjoying the company of your friends. Going to the club, drinking socially and even trying out something new isn’t a bad thing; unless it becomes habitual. When you find yourself going to the bar every night and coming home in the wee hours of the morning; not only drunk but smelling like an ashtray; you might want to recheck your lifestyle.
Sleep deprivation is one of the major reasons why you are always feeling weak and showing signs of premature aging. If you don’t give your body enough time to rest and recuperate from the daily stress, you will burn out. In the middle of the day, you will feel weaker and sleepy. Your skin will lose its youthful glow, and your face could end up dried and blotchy. Not to mention the huge eyebags! Adults need at least 6 hours of sleep, and during this time the body will recuperate and recover from the day’s stress. If you have not been sleeping at the proper hour, or at least getting enough sleep, you are depriving your body of much needed rest. There’s also been some news from the WHO (World Health Organization) that staying up late causes some common cancers. This might give you something to think about.
Alcohol abuse is another factor why you might be looking older than your actual age. Alcoholic drinks dehydrate you, thus leaving your whole body in need of much needed water. Add to the fact that you could be damaging your liver in the long run. A glass of wine or a bottle of beer when there is an occasion to celebrate is not harmful. However, if you start drinking too much, it will take its toll on your body. Also, drinking and driving is entirely not a good idea.
Smoking is one of the leading causes of lung cancer. Even if you do not smoke, you could be inhaling second hand smoke from the people around you. A club that is closed off, with no proper ventilation, does not have enough oxygen that your body needs. If you are the smoker, you could be harming those who do not smoke.
If you have been partying way too much, you’ll see the signs. You only have to look at the mirror to realize that you have suddenly aged. Your skin is dry, you have dark circles around your eyes, you’re also probably losing a lot of weight. You will feel weak all the time, feel dizzy from lack of sleep or too much alcohol, or you could find yourself dozing off midmorning. These are clear signs that you have to lay low for a while from the club scene and start rethinking your lifestyle. There are lots of other, healthier ways, to enjoy the company of friends, you just have to be open.
