There are so many different types of hair removal treatments and products on the market that it is easy to see why some people are very confused when it comes to the topic of hair removal. The majority of the products work as they are intended and you will get the results that you are after but which method of treatment is the best for you? The two major treatments for hair removal include laser hair removal, and Electrolysis. There is no major difference between electrolysis and laser hair removal when it comes to the risks involved and the side effects that may be experienced. Below we will compare the two different treatments and you will be able to make an informed decision on which treatment is best for you.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis works by using a small metal probe that is worked into the pores where the hair is grown and then a low voltage current is passed into the follicles which will render the hair follicles inoperable. The major benefit of electrolysis over laser hair removal includes less treatments and better results. When you undergo electrolysis treatment you will usually need between one and three appointments in order to completely destroy the hair follicles in a specific area. While both of this methods have been scientifically proven to work electrolysis has more successful over a broader range of patients and the wait time for the hair removal process to be complete is much quicker.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is a process that uses a powerful light in the roots of your hair that destroys the follicles sac of your hair and prevents the hair from growing back over time. The major benefits to laser hair removal over electrolysis are the length of the treatments and cost. The laser hair removal process takes a lot less time on average per session than the electrolysis procedure. The cost of the laser hair removal procedure is also significantly less than that of the electrolysis treatment.
