Electrolysis

Electrolysis is a new technology that has shown remarkable results in the removal of unwanted hair. Electrolysis works by using a small metal probe that is worked into the pores where the hair is grown and then a low voltage current is passed into the follicles which will render the hair follicles inoperable. This treatment effectively ensures that no hair will grow in the area where the electrolysis treatment has been used. When this treatment is performed properly and enough of the treatments have been administered the area of your body that underwent the electrolysis should be hair free and should be unable to grow hair.

The electrolysis hair removal process is a delicate procedure that can require multiple treatments in order to ensure that all of the hair follicles in a specific area have been destroyed. The treatment can cause a slight amount of discomfort but the procedure is a quick one that can be over in as little as fifteen to twenty minutes depending on the size of the area. The most common areas of the body in which electrolysis hair removal treatments are performed include the eyebrows, lips, chin, hairline, and torso.

Risks And Post Op
Following the electrolysis hair removal procedure you can generally expect that your skin will remain very tender, and swallow for up to 12 hours follow the treatment. You should expect a wait time of anywhere from two weeks up to a month until you notice a significant amount of hair loss in the area where you had the electrolysis hair removal treatment.

There are few risk involved with the electrolysis hair removal treatment and the number of patients who experience these risks are only 1 percent of the patient base. The most serious of risk involve scarring and significant changes to the color of skin. You should ensure that you do not have electrolysis treatment in sensitive parts of your body like your ears and your nose. People who have a pacemaker are unable to undergo this treatment due to the possible reaction the pacemaker may have with the electrolysis hair removal treatment.
