One of the relatively recent developments in cosmetic surgery allows you to have plumper and firmer contours on your butt, without exercise and diet (although these two factors are essential to a healthy body, you can’t do without these in any case). A butt lift improves on the sag in the buttocks through the removal of excess skin; skin sag usually results from rapid weight changes, as a physical symptom of the aging process, or as predetermined by your genes. The procedure mainly aims to give you a more flattering silhouette by toning your butt contour.
The butt lift procedure may employ two techniques. The first involves the removal of excessive skin on the upper section of the butt, and the remaining skin is tightened and stretched in an effort to lift the buttocks. The second method achieves the lift either with injections of fat on specific areas, or through silicone implantation. Butt lifts which are achieved with fat injections are commonly known in the cosmetic industry as a Brazilian butt lift; this is beneficial for those without enough muscle mass in the butt to benefit from a traditional lift. A Brazilian butt lift makes the butt more voluminous and prominent, in addition to giving it a lift.
Patient with more muscle mass in the buttocks may benefit from an initial liposuction procedure in order to diminish the size of the butt. Those who want to flaunt larger, more prominent buttocks are recommended to opt for the butt implant or the Brazilian butt lift, as these can sufficiently fill in the muscles in the buttocks, providing it with more volume. For patients with sagging buttocks but do not necessarily need an augmentation, as there is enough buttock mass to provide a prominent contour with a butt lift, the procedure is performed through tissue removal and skin tightening on specific areas. For minimal sagging, wedges of tissue are removed from the butt creases to obtain the same ideal effect.
A butt lift through skin removal involves a tissue incision at the areas where the small of the back and the buttocks meet. Since the procedure is invasive, an anesthetic is administered to the patient prior to the surgery; the technique is performed as an outpatient procedure nonetheless, and the patient can go home right after the operation. The patient is however advised to take extra precaution in caring for the treatment areas; as such, he or she shouldn’t sit for at least a week in order to let the incisions heal properly. The patient may return to work after two weeks if he takes the medication as prescribed, and if the doctor’s instructions are carefully observed. Since incisions are involved in the procedure, scarring is expected, though these are strategically placed in areas which are easily concealable by a bathing suit or even a bikini.
The costs for a butt lift procedure vary with each clinic and with the patient’s goals and condition, but it is safe to say that it ranges anywhere between 2,000 to 13,000 dollars. The doctor may advise a combination of any of the techniques described above to provide the best benefit, and only a thorough consultation will determine exactly how much an individual treatment will cost.
