Breast Implants

Breast implants are quickly becoming a more popular surgery and is currently the single most popular plastic surgery being performed in North America. Depending on what part of the country you have the procedure completed in you can expect to pay anywhere from five to eight thousand dollars to have your implants inserted. With all of the advanced in modern medicine the current recovery time from having breast implant surgery is approximately one to two weeks. Before you decide to have breast implants there are a number of things you will need to hammer out with your doctor.

The first major decision that you will need to make is where you want the incision to be made when you are having the implants put in. There are currently four different places in which the surgeon can make the cut to place the implants; these include the bellybutton, armpit, nipple, and at the base of the breast. All of these different locations have pros and cons associated with them and you should take the time to discuss them all with your doctor.

The next question you will need to be prepared also has to do with location but this question focuses on the placement of the implant. You can either have the implants placed above or below the muscle found in the breast and as was the case with the placement of the cut both of these options have benefits and disadvantages associated with them and will require careful consideration.

The last question that you need to fully discuss with your doctor is the size of the implants that you want to be implanted. The easiest way to get a good idea of how you will look when the procedure has finished is by trying on the demo models that many of the doctors have in their offices. The most common complaint currently with breast implant surgery is the fact that the patient chose a size that is smaller than they would have liked.
